Data Privacy Day ... 28 Jan....

Intel, the main sponsor of Data Privacy Day, is promoting privacy awareness and education among teens across the United States. Data Privacy Day also serves the important purpose of furthering international collaboration and cooperation around privacy issues. If you have teen between 12-17 who surf internet regularly and enjoy social networking services (Blogger, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc), you should educate them about how to protect the privacy of their personal information online. Please visit this site to check out useful information from "Educational Material" and "Links and Resource" sections.

Share the video clips available at this site and below quick privacy tips with kids and help them make smart choices in using the Internet:

  1. Think before you post. Just about anyone can access, use, and forward the information you share online.

  2. Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post photos or information that you wouldn’t post about yourself.

  3. Use privacy settings to control access to your information online.

  4. Don’t share your personal information—including passwords—with anyone.

  5. Don’t accept “friends” you don’t know in the real world, and NEVER agree to meet anyone in person you have only “met” online
